1. What is Grind Time Skateboarding?

Grind Time Skateboarding offers private and group skateboarding sessions for all ages and skill levels. We are operated under The Free Skate Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free skate programs to underserved youth.

2. What happened to Grind Time Skate School?

Grind Time Skate School has officially rebranded as Grind Time Skateboarding and is now part of our nonprofit structure. This change allows all profits from sessions to directly support community skateboarding initiatives.

3. How do I book a session?

Starting June 1st, all sessions must be booked through our new portal:

4. What types of sessions do you offer?

Private 1-on-1 sessions (Beginner to Advanced)

Group classes (Beginner/Intermediate sessions)

Community programs through The Free Skate Foundation (free to eligible youth)

5. Who are your coaches?

Our coaches are experienced skateboarders with a passion for teaching. They are certified (or undergoing certification) through the U.S. Skateboarding Education Association and are trained to coach safely, effectively, and inclusively.

6. Where are sessions held?

Most sessions are held at Pedlow Skatepark in Encino, CA. We occasionally offer mobile sessions at other local parks — these will be listed when available on the booking page.

7. Do I need my own gear?

We recommend bringing your own skateboard and safety gear. However, we can provide loaner boards and pads upon request — just let us know in advance when booking.

8. What ages do you work with?

We offer sessions for all ages — from young kids (5+) to teens and adults. Whether you're stepping on a board for the first time or leveling up your skills, we’ve got a program for you.

9. How does my payment support the nonprofit?

100% of profits from paid Grind Time Skateboarding sessions go directly to The Free Skate Foundation, funding free programs, events, and skatepark advocacy.

10. Can I donate or sponsor a youth skater?

Yes! You can make a tax-deductible donation or sponsor a scholarship for a youth skater in need. Visit www.thefreeskatefoundation.org to learn more.

11. What’s your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee. Full policy details are available during booking checkout.

12. Can I book recurring sessions or packages?

Yes! We offer recurring session options and multi-session packages at a discounted rate. Just select your preferred package when booking or reach out to us directly to set up a custom plan.

13. Do you offer sessions in Spanish or other languages?

Yes, we have bilingual coaches available upon request. If you or your child would benefit from instruction in a language other than English, please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

14. Can I volunteer with Grind Time or The Free Skate Foundation?

15. Do you offer scholarships or free sessions?

Yes! Through The Free Skate Foundation, we provide free sessions and gear to youth who qualify. You can apply or nominate someone at www.thefreeskatefoundation.org/programs.
